ABOUT ME

I am a street photographer and architecture photographer based in Milano.

I graduated at Civica Scuola di Fotografia of Milano in late 90s. Giovanni Chiaramonte was my teacher and presented my first personal exhibition.

After graduating at I.U.L.M. - Milano I was editor in chief at Duel, the movies magazine directed by Gianni Canova, and I co-wrote Enciclopedia del Cinema Garzanti.

I attended to a Master of Fotografia del Territorio at Politecnico di Milano.

I worked as interiors photographer, then as still photographer.

After a Master of Cinema at Scuola del Cinema di Milano I started to work as assistant director and that's my actual job.

I realized various black and white portfolios.

I'm interested in transient aspects of town: under construction urban areas drawing provisional itineraries and facades, shadows blades as temporary borders and doorsteps, paper faces looking from city walls as prisoned, speechless gods; angels in town embodied in statues and people.

I constantly photograph South Italy as a land of memory and mystery, where magic and death are deeply connected.

I use different film formats: 35mm, 4,5x6cm,  6x6cm, 6x7cm, 6x9cm, panoramic (24x54mm).

I work with instant films too,

In Polaroid (600 and Image) and Fuji Instax (Wide) formats urban and natural landscapes are like a theatre scenery, artificial elements are more real than the natural ones, representation of places confuses with the real places, architectures and signs have ironical references, reflections discover spaces of mystery, illusion and dream.

Between 2017 and 2019 I wrote more than sixty articles about history and technics of photography for Giunti Editore - Firenze.
